Among the Giants is just around the corner, a project we are proud to share for yet another edition. And this will already be the eighth. The new one? From May 31st to June 4th in a destination that may still be unfamiliar to many of you: the county of Vestland, in Norway. After seven previous adventures across different countries, the project continues to evolve, always in search of new landscapes, new stories, and new ways of experiencing cycling together.
For us at RAW, Among the Giants is one of the most meaningful projects we take part in, not only for the riding itself but for everything that happens around it. Bringing together strangers for several days of shared travel is never simple, yet it consistently becomes an experience defined by connection, friendship and lasting memories. Over five days, including three riding days, performance fades into the background, and what remains is something more complete: a space where cycling, adventure, nature and culture come together into a single, intense experience of discovery and self-challenge.
Location
We like to think we are always looking for an alternative approach. We could have set our sights on a mainstream cycling destination, but our drive to think outside the box allows us to discover hidden gems.
This is undoubtedly the case with Norway, where the unique nature of the terrain creates extraordinary landscapes. Breathtaking views while riding along the edge of the fjords. Climbs that take us from sea level to over 1,000 meters. Lingering snow from the long winter that embellishes every kilometer ridden.
Cycling through Western Norway requires creativity: fjords reroute roads into long tunnels closed to bikes, a challenge that inspired us to design an itinerary that embraces the landscape—long climbs, ferry crossings, and a true taste of Norwegian adventure.
Base Camp
Vestland is home to numerous large cabins, traditionally used by local families and visitors seeking prime ski conditions. Once winter is over, many of these cottages remain empty until the following season. We will take advantage of this and establish our base camp in Vossevangen, at the foot of the region’s largest ski resort. In our chosen accommodation, participants will be able to stay warm after a long day on the saddle, network and disconnect.
Involved brands
Among the Giants would be nothing without its participants, and this year a nice set of brand ambassadors and individual riders will join us in Norway for what is expected to be an eye-opening experience.
We had Sturdy Cycles on board for ATG6 and the brand returns for this new edition. Bespoke bikes clearly have a place in our event, and founder Tom himself will be joining us to put the South West England titanium bikes to the test. Designed, engineered and built around each rider’s fit and handling preferences One thing is certain: we will learn plenty from his frame-building experience, while suffering to keep up with him.
Anyone who has spent consecutive long days on the bike knows how quickly saddle discomfort can turn an incredible trip into a difficult experience. When riding hour after hour across demanding terrain, comfort stops being a luxury and becomes essential. Fortunately, once again we have Posedla supporting the project. Developed and manufactured in the Czech Republic, Posedla’s product portfolio combines advanced pressure mapping technology with tailored production to create saddles adapted to each rider. Throughout the trip, we will be paying close attention to how this translates into real-world comfort on the rough roads and long mountain days of Norway.
Long days on the bike demand more than strong legs and good equipment, and that is where nutrition becomes essential. Over the last few years, Amacx has earned a strong reputation within the endurance world thanks to its practical and performance-oriented approach to sports nutrition. From drink mixes and energy gels to recovery products, the Dutch brand focuses on reliable fueling solutions designed for real riding conditions. With demanding stages and countless hours spent deep in the fjords, having a nutrition partner capable of supporting both performance and recovery will once again play a key role throughout this year’s edition of Among the Giants.
When speaking about iconic names linked to performance heritage, Pirelli hardly needs an introduction. While many still associate the Italian brand with motorsports, Pirelli has also established itself as a major player in cycling thanks to its growing range of road and gravel tires. Developed with the same focus on grip, speed and reliability that defines the brand’s wider history, their products are perfectly suited for the rough mountain roads and changing surfaces awaiting us during this edition of Among the Giants. In an event where confidence descending is just as important as speed climbing, tire choice becomes more relevant than ever.
Few brands in cycling embody performance and technical refinement quite like ASSOS of Switzerland. For decades, the Swiss brand has set the benchmark in premium cycling apparel, constantly pushing the boundaries of comfort and innovation through meticulous research and development. From long days in the mountains to unpredictable weather, their garments are designed to disappear while riding, allowing the focus to remain entirely on the road ahead. With the demanding terrain of the fjords awaiting us, we are confident ASSOS equipment will once again prove why it has become a reference point for riders who spend countless hours on the bike.
When riding day after day through wet roads, rough surfaces and constantly changing conditions, drivetrain efficiency quickly becomes more than just a marginal gain. That is where Cyclowax comes into play. Focused on high-performance wax-based chain lubrication, the brand has built a strong reputation among riders looking for a cleaner, quieter and more efficient alternative to traditional lubricants. Designed to perform reliably even in demanding conditions, Cyclowax products help reduce friction and drivetrain wear while keeping maintenance to a minimum throughout long adventures. With endless climbs and unpredictable Norwegian weather awaiting us, having a drivetrain partner capable of delivering consistent performance will once again make a noticeable difference during Among the Giants.
Last but not least, we have Coffee Union Place. CUP was founded around three years ago by Victor Bercero aka Last Leaders, who has played a relevant role in the history of Raw Cycling Magazine. It is a small business of specialty coffee in Castelldefels, south of Barcelona, and it has become a mandatory stop for cyclists in the area. With its current barista partnering with La Marzocco as participants in this edition, the good vibes (and very good coffee) are guaranteed.
Media team
A dedicated media crew follows the trip from start to finish each year, making sure every participating brand comes away with a strong and authentic visual story. Their work goes far beyond documenting the rides themselves. They also capture the more spontaneous moments off the bike — from life at the accommodation to the shared dinners at the end of each day, where stories and laughs from behind the camera naturally become part of the experience.
For 2026, David from Fluke Visuals returns to oversee all video production, bringing his unmistakable cinematic approach to the project once again. Joining him is Albert, aka Brazo de Hierro, whose eye for photography has become an essential part of the visual identity of the trip over the years.
What’s to come
Over the next few days we’ll be sharing live updates and first impressions from Norway across our social channels (Among the Giants and Raw Cycling Magazine), followed by a full written recap once the trip comes to an end. Shortly afterwards, we’ll also be releasing the official film from this year’s edition. Stay tuned to how the coming days unfold!
