With the release of our first print magazine, Raw Cycling Magazine entered a new chapter, and after receiving rewarding feedback from our readers, we quickly started brainstorming what concept should the following publication focus on.
We plan on including in each issue multiple articles with a common theme, without diminishing the relevance of our recurrent product tests and recaps of events or adventures we may have taken part in. Rather than simply bringing together the best stories, rides and interviews, each edition will explore one idea that defines the way we experience cycling, not only as a sport, but as a culture, a creative outlet and, ultimately, a way of life.
The theme of this edition is Ride or Art. Cycling photography does not simply document: it also interprets, transforms, and moves us. The use of color, grain, blur, texture, and depth turns every image into a work with its own intention. Particularly in sections like In Focus, where we wanted the visual narrative to carry the same weight as the words, exploring a more artistic and sensory approach to storytelling. This issue speaks precisely about that. About photography as a language. About cycling as an expression. About the blurred line where sport ends, and art begins.
If you’ve ever stopped to admire a photograph long after the race was over, wondered what happens behind the lens, or felt that cycling can evoke emotions that are difficult to explain, this issue might resonate with you. In Ride or Art, you will find intimate conversations with cycling photographers and photo galleries covering specific disciplines of our beautiful sport, complemented by inspiring pieces that you will want to read again and again.
In this issue:
“Mud or Glory” by Brazo de Hierro MMR Cycling Academy: Investing in the future national cycling stars In Focus: Naike Ereñozaga Grand Tour of Catalonia: The many faces of a territory Upstream along the Mekong: A journey through Laos Sami Sauri: “If you go further, you’ll see more” Experiencing the Dustman UCI Gravel Series In Focus: Sean Hardy
Print allows us to slow down. To give photography the space it deserves. To let stories breathe. To create something that can be revisited years from now and still carry the same emotion as the day it was first opened. We’ve spent months shaping every page, refining every image and carefully selecting every story.
Issue One has been designed by Sheila Dobón, and printed in Barcelona. Ride or Art is now available to order our online store with immediate shipping.
