La edici\u00f3n 2023 de <a href=\"https:\/\/acrossandes.cc\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Across Andes<\/a> va directa a los anales de la historia debido al clima inclemente y, a pesar de la belleza y la excelente organizaci\u00f3n del evento, seguramente har\u00e1 que los participantes y <em>dotwatcher<\/em> se lo piensen dos veces antes de inscribirse a un reto similar.<\/p>\n<h3>De lleno en la Patagonia<\/h3>\n<p>Across Andes 2023 fue etiquetada como la edici\u00f3n \u201cPatagonia Verde\u201d y el punto de partida fue Coyhaique, en la regi\u00f3n de Ays\u00e9n de Chile. La carrera, que inicialmente ten\u00eda una longitud de 1.000 km con 15.000 metros de desnivel positivo, se desarroll\u00f3 mucho m\u00e1s en el sur que <a href=\"https:\/\/rawcyclingmag.com\/across-andes-2022-chile-has-a-lot-to-offer\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">en a\u00f1os anteriores<\/a>, lo que tuvo sus pros y sus contras. Para entonces, ya todos estaban empapados, y ni siquiera las mejores prendas de vestir aguantaban la cantidad de lluvia que ca\u00eda del cielo. Dadas las condiciones, y aunque parezca contradictorio, la mayor\u00eda sigui\u00f3 adelante porque no hab\u00eda d\u00f3nde refugiarse. La subieron por el lado sur, que est\u00e1 asfaltado pero es muy empinado, y descendieron al otro lado por un camino todoterreno muy t\u00e9cnico y accidentado. Rob tuvo que afrontarlo durante la noche y, ya fatigado y consciente de las consecuencias f\u00edsicas de poner el cuerpo en condiciones tan exigentes, encontr\u00f3 sus l\u00edmites y se baj\u00f3 de la bici.<\/p>\n<p>Es comprensible que muchos otros corredores desistieran en su intento de terminar Across Andes 2023. Algunos lo hicieron en el CP1 por lo que se pudo gestionar un transfer a gran escala que los trajera de regreso a Coyhaique. Dormir al aire libre bajo la tormenta, dado el equipamiento minimalista que traen los ciclistas a este tipo de eventos, no era una opci\u00f3n racional.<\/p>\n<p>Desde el CP1, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/ashwedelich\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ash Wedelich<\/a> inici\u00f3 su remontada y cuando lleg\u00f3 a la segunda parada para conseguir el sello de su tarjeta ya lideraba el ranking femenino y se encontraba entre los quince primeros de la general. Los caminos a trav\u00e9s de los paisajes patag\u00f3nicos var\u00edan entre tramos expuestos con multitud de monta\u00f1as a la vista y segmentos con caminos estrechos a lo largo de los fiordos de la costa del pa\u00eds. Es verdad que en esta ocasi\u00f3n los corredores no pudieron apreciar la belleza de la regi\u00f3n, pero se ha anunciado que la ruta de la siguiente edici\u00f3n ser\u00e1 pr\u00e1cticamente id\u00e9ntica as\u00ed que con suerte los organizadores podr\u00e1n explotar el potencial de la zona.<\/p>\n<h3>Alteraciones de la ruta<\/h3>\n<p>Dadas las m\u00faltiples loops contenidas en la rutal, los ciclistas pasaron por La Junta varias veces. La primera vez fue en el km 450, con el segundo punto de control localizado 70 km m\u00e1s adelante. Luego regresar\u00edan tierra adentro siguiendo los mismos caminos en la otra direcci\u00f3n. Sin embargo, los organizadores, pensando que las autoridades locales cancelar\u00edan el servicio de ferry debido a la incesante tormenta, actuaron de forma proactiva y acortaron la ruta. El punto de control tres ser\u00eda un punto de control virtual en lugar de f\u00edsico, sin tener que detenerse en ning\u00fan lugar para conseguir el sello. Esto signific\u00f3 que la ruta final ten\u00eda una longitud de unos 850 km en lugar de 1.000 km. El tiempo l\u00edmite se mantuvo sin cambios, por lo que los corredores que a\u00fan estaban en ruta pod\u00edan estar seguros de llegar a tiempo a la meta.<\/p>\n<p>Los corredores fueron notificados al respecto y la noticia fue recibida con sentimientos encontrados. Quienes se estaban esforzando para llegar al cruce en ferry marcado en su <em>planning<\/em>, teniendo en cuenta que hay 13 horas entre el primer y el segundo servicio del d\u00eda, sintieron que hab\u00edan perdido algunas balas preciosas. Nos record\u00f3 las estrategias log\u00edsticas de los distintos eventos del <a href=\"https:\/\/rawcyclingmag.com\/gran-guanche-audax-gravel-2023\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Gran Guanche<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3>Muchos superh\u00e9roes y algunos ganadores<\/h3>\n<p>Andr\u00e9s Tagle gan\u00f3 con un tiempo de 47 horas y 11 minutos. Mostr\u00f3 su mentalidad implacable desde el momento, alrededor del kil\u00f3metro 150, en el que raj\u00f3 su neum\u00e1tico y tuvo que comenzar su persecuci\u00f3n a Rob Britton.
