Mientras los ciclistas profesionales viajan a sitios distantes buscando el buen tiempo para hacer training camps, los ciclistas aficionados lo tienen m\u00e1s complicado debido a sus responsabilidades laborales. Con Touch and Go se propone optimizar la parte de viajar al destino durmiendo para aprovechar al m\u00e1ximo un fin de semana.<\/p>\n<h3>La elecci\u00f3n de la ruta<\/h3>\n<p>Con todos los posibles puertos de salida o llegada sobre la mesa, una exhaustiva recopilaci\u00f3n de las horas de partida de ferries nos llev\u00f3 a la conclusi\u00f3n de que la combinaci\u00f3n Toulon-Bastia y Ajaccio-Toulon era la \u00fanica que nos permit\u00eda disponer del tiempo suficiente para cruzar gran parte de C\u00f3rcega en un solo d\u00eda. As\u00ed, dimos con una ruta de 192 kil\u00f3metros con casi 4.000 metros de desnivel positivo para la que dispondr\u00edamos menos de 12 horas para completar. Uno puede pensar que en una isla del Mediterr\u00e1neo, por l\u00f3gica, la temperatura nunca ser\u00e1 especialmente fr\u00eda, pero C\u00f3rcega es una isla que tiene todos los climas, con su pico m\u00e1s alto el Monte Cinto de 2.706 m. As\u00ed, cuando a escasos d\u00edas del evento la nieve cubr\u00eda gran parte de las carreteras por las que ten\u00edamos intenci\u00f3n de transitar, muchas dudas merodearon nuestras cabezas.<\/p>\n<p>Finalmente el tiempo estuvo de nuestro lado y los 16 ciclistas pudimos disfrutar de un gran d\u00eda sobre la bici. Aun tenemos grabado en la mente el momento en el que, a lo largo de un tramo de sube y baja justo despu\u00e9s de coronar el primer puerto Col de Bigorno (885 m), pudimos ver desde la distancia los picos m\u00e1s altos de la isla totalmente cubiertos de nieve. Ya hab\u00edamos pasado por tramos en los que el deshielo hab\u00eda creado verdaderos r\u00edos que cruzaban la carretera, as\u00ed que era l\u00f3gico pensar que a medida que continu\u00e1ramos ascendiendo el estado ser\u00eda peor.<\/p>\n<p>La primera parada organizada se produjo en el tramo llano entre la primera y segunda ascensi\u00f3n del d\u00eda, cuando ya hab\u00edamos recorrido un tercio de la ruta. La primera parte del Col de Vergio (1.477m) nos llev\u00f3 por un ca\u00f1\u00f3n (Scala di Santa Regina) con vistas a las altas monta\u00f1as frente a nosotros. Uno pod\u00eda escuchar cosas como \u201cuau\u201d o \u201cqu\u00e9 bonito\u201d cada vez que tom\u00e1bamos una curva y nos encontr\u00e1bamos con algo nuevo al salir de ella.<\/p>\n<p>Dada la longitud de la subida principal y la hora del d\u00eda en ese momento, decidimos realizar la pausa para la comida en un punto intermedio de la ascensi\u00f3n en Calacuccia, aprovechando para reagruparnos y coger fuerzas para la segunda parte. A falta de m\u00e1s de 10 kil\u00f3metros para coronar empezamos a adentrarnos en un paisaje cada vez m\u00e1s nevado a ambos lados de la carretera. En ese punto el silencio nos rodeaba, y s\u00f3lo estos peque\u00f1os desprendimientos alteraban el sonido de nuestra acelerada respiraci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p>Parec\u00eda mentira que estuvi\u00e9ramos a tanta altura y rodeados de nieve en una isla. Dato curioso, el ganado en C\u00f3rcega es totalmente libre, de modo que hay que bajar y tomar las curvas con especial atenci\u00f3n ya que es f\u00e1cil encontrarse cerdos, caballos o vacas en mitad de la carretera. Ya transitando una parte plana de la costa, nos quedamos de nuevo at\u00f3nitos al ver el juego de luces de la puesta de sol con las olas del mar, la arena de la playa y las monta\u00f1as siempre presentes que nos acompa\u00f1aban hasta la parte m\u00e1s baja.<\/p>\n<p>Ya al l\u00edmite de nuestras fuerzas coronamos el \u00faltimo puerto Bocca San Bastiano (411 m) y nos reagrupamos viendo el sol caer dentro del mar para descender tranquilamente a Ajaccio. Lo hab\u00edamos conseguido. Sin v\u00edas de escape y una ruta de lo m\u00e1s dif\u00edcil aunque preciosa, hab\u00edamos cruzado la isla en direcci\u00f3n suroeste en un solo d\u00eda, exprimiendo al m\u00e1ximo el fin de semana. Fue una sensaci\u00f3n muy especial saber que est\u00e1bamos en una isla, practicando ciclismo y haciendo turismo a la vez, pero que solo \u00edbamos a estar ah\u00ed dureante un periodo de tiempo muy corto.
