Estas tienen dos agujeros separados apenas 2.5 cm pero que cambian completamente el comportamiento de la bici. En la configuraci\u00f3n de 40 cm de vainas cabe una neum\u00e1tico de hasta 30 mm (en 700c), mientras que alargando el cuadro a 42.5 cm acepta hasta cubiertas de 38 mm. Ya que al desplazar la rueda adelante y atr\u00e1s la posici\u00f3n del disco variar\u00e1 respecto a la pinza de freno y har\u00e1 que colisionen. A nivel de dise\u00f1o, este movimiento del soporte, hacia adelante o hacia atr\u00e1s, produc\u00eda una cadena de inconvenientes irremediables a nivel de geometr\u00eda y colisiones entre diferentes elementos que parec\u00edan insalvables. En primer lugar podemos destacar la ausencia de cables varios, incluyendo frenos y cambios.
