En las dos primeras carreras hubo todo tipo de sorpresas, decepciones y otras intrahistorias. Crusher in the Tushar, que tuvo lugar el pasado s\u00e1bado, no fue una excepci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<h3>Fuego XC, 9 de abril<\/h3>\n<p>El <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lifetimegrandprix.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Grand Prix<\/a> comenz\u00f3 con una carrera de MTB durante la feria Sea Otter Classic en Monterrey, California, lo que signific\u00f3 que los ciclistas expertos en ciclismo de ruta tuvieron que salir de su zona de confort desde buen principio. El 9 de abril, los 60 ciclistas que forman parte de la liga dieron dos vueltas alrededor de las colinas del Monumento Nacional Fort Ord que sumaron un total de 80 km. La mayor\u00eda de los corredores planificaron antes del comienzo de la temporada simplemente no asistir a la carrera que consideraban menos adecuada para ellos, pero muchos ya se han visto obligados a saltarse una de las tres primeras debido a lesiones u otros contratiempos.<\/p>\n<p>Eso ha agregado otro nivel de emoci\u00f3n, ya que varios ciclistas est\u00e1n ahora rezagados en la clasificaci\u00f3n sin margen de error. Por ejemplo, Payson McElveen se perdi\u00f3 la primera ronda debido a un accidente en una carrera unas semanas antes que result\u00f3 en un par de huesos rotos, pero su rendimiento en los dos eventos siguientes lo ha colocado en un buen lugar en la clasificaci\u00f3n. Los que forman parte del selecto grupo que forma el Grand Prix quer\u00edan o bien redimirse tras una mala actuaci\u00f3n en la primera ronda o seguir demostrando que estaban en forma. Todos los dem\u00e1s quer\u00edan demostrar que merecen ser parte del grupo de ciclistas que compiten por el lucrativo premio al final de la temporada.<\/p>\n<p>La distancia de 320 km era la que contaba para la liga, y tanto para hombres como para mujeres, los cinco primeros incluyeron atletas que formaban parte del Life Time Grand Prix y otros que no. Por su parte, Sof\u00eda G\u00f3mez gan\u00f3 en solitario y se puso l\u00edder del Gran Premio tras la triste p\u00e9rdida de Moriah Wilson.<\/p>\n<h3>Crusher in the Tushar, 9 de julio<\/h3>\n<p>Crusher in the Tushar dio la bienvenida el fin de semana pasado a un total de aproximadamente 800 ciclistas, incluidos los que forman parte del Grand Prix, en las monta\u00f1as Tushar de Utah, en las afueras de Beaver. Utah se encuentra a gran altura y es bien conocido por su terreno accidentado, por lo que, aunque la carrera fue en un 40 % sobre asfalto, el desnivel acumulado pag\u00f3 su precio a los ciclistas.<\/p>\n<p>Despu\u00e9s de 3.200 metros de desnivel positivo en 112 kil\u00f3metros y un final en alto, Haley Smith se llev\u00f3 la victoria ocho minutos por delante de Emma Grant, que finaliz\u00f3 en segundo lugar. Aunque en un principio un par de corredores se adelantaron, pronto la dureza del terreno cambi\u00f3 la situaci\u00f3n a lo largo del recorrido. Sofia Gomez termin\u00f3 sexta pero conserva su liderazgo en el Grand Prix.<\/p>\n<p>En la carrera masculina, Keegan Sweenson cruz\u00f3 la l\u00ednea de meta primero con un margen de m\u00e1s de 11 minutos, estableciendo un nuevo r\u00e9cord del trazado. Cole Paton, Griffin Easter y Peter Stetina corrieron hasta el final por el segundo al cuarto lugar.
