Chris, con su c\u00f3mplice Jess, decidieron iniciar una aventura de bikepacking siguiendo paralelamente la ruta original de senderismo.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>La idea de hacer el circuito de Annapurna en bici, b\u00e1sicamente una ruta de trekking, naci\u00f3 de unos art\u00edculos que Jess y yo vimos online. En 2005, se construy\u00f3 una ruta de 4&#215;4 paralelamente al sendero en el primer y \u00faltimo tercio del circuito para mejorar el acceso de los locales y el turismo. Esto abri\u00f3 la posibilidad de hacerlo en bici, de modo que montamos las bicis y lo convertimos en una ruta de bikepacking. El primer d\u00eda ya comprobamos lo dif\u00edcil que ser\u00eda la ruta. Las carreteras de gravilla son muy duras, como nada que haya visto. Durante los 8 primeros, Chris y Jess s\u00f3lo completaron una tercera parte, empezando desde Besisahar, lidiando con horas de buses, una ruta en la oscuridad con problemas de iluminaci\u00f3n, y las calurosas y polvorientas carreteras de duro gravel repletas de camiones gigantes.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Aunque duro, el paisaje era precioso. El camino y la carretera transcurren por un valle esculpido por el r\u00edo Marsyangdi. En el camino hay docenas de alojamientos que ofrecen camas y comidas calientes. El coste medio de la habitaci\u00f3n son 2 $ USD, teniendo en cuenta que comer\u00e1s ah\u00ed. A lo largo del camino se encontraron trozos factibles pero en otros carretear la bici era obligatorio debido a la dificultad de las peque\u00f1as sendas y todos los senderistas y mulas que se encontraban en el camino.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Durante los siguientes d\u00edas, fuimos lentamente de pueblo en pueblo, cruzando cantidad de famosos puentes colgantes. La mayor\u00eda de los excursionistas viajaban m\u00e1s r\u00e1pido de nosotros en este punto. Coronar el paso fue una haza\u00f1a dif\u00edcil, pero una vez arriba, la otra ladera no es m\u00e1s f\u00e1cil. El descenso es muy duro y el camino complicado.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>El paso de Thorong La fue el reto m\u00e1s grande de todo el viaje. Simplemente la altura, 5.419 m, lo hace dif\u00edcil para todo el mundo, pero empujar bicicletas a\u00fan m\u00e1s. Viajamos m\u00e1s lentamente que los caminantes durante estas secciones. Lo que ellos hac\u00edamos en 2-3 horas nosotros en 5-6.<\/p>\n<p>Cuando llegamos a lo alto del paso \u00e9ramos los \u00fanicos all\u00ed, cosa que fue realmente especial ya que siempre hay gente tomando fotos.Desafortunadamente no pudimos estar mucho rato ya que la noche se acercaba. Para nuestra sorpresa, esper\u00e1bamos poder hacer el descenso en bicicleta, pero result\u00f3 ser demasiado empinado y peligroso. Tuvimos que andar casi todos los 1.200 m de elevaci\u00f3n hasta Chambar Bhir. El atardecer era realmente precioso, pero sab\u00eda que las temperaturas descender\u00edan a niveles peligrosos. Los \u00faltimos 7 d\u00edas fueron cuesta abajo hasta llegar a la ciudad de Beni.<\/p>\n<h3>Gente nepal\u00ed y an\u00e9cdotas<\/h3>\n<p>Los nepal\u00eds son realmente hospitalarios, honestos, amables y trabajadores. La mayor\u00eda de personas que viajan a Nepal dicen que es un tema cultural, un estilo de vida que muestra toda la espiritualidad de la gente que viven en esos pueblos y valles de ensue\u00f1o, alejados de la civilizaci\u00f3n moderna. Aqu\u00ed, Chris y Jess nos cuentan alguna an\u00e9cdota: una c\u00e1mara perdida, cervezas locales, comida t\u00edpica, atardeceres, lugares y personas que no olvidaran nunca.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Un d\u00eda tuve que dejar mi c\u00e1mara para ayudar a subir las bicis por unas escaleras. Cuando volv\u00ed, estaba tan cansado que me olvid\u00e9 de c\u00e1mara. Me d\u00ed cuenta al cabo de unas horas. Volv\u00ed pitando al lugar donde la dej\u00e9, pero no estaba. Fu\u00ed al hotel m\u00e1s cercano y, por suerte, ah\u00ed estaba. Un hombre de la zona la encontr\u00f3 y se la di\u00f3 al propietario del hotel. Fue tal el alivio que invit\u00e9 al propietario y al hombre a varias rondas de Namaste (la cerveza local de Nepal).<\/p>\n<p>Nuestro momento favorito fue ver los yaks. En una de las tiendas hab\u00eda un hombre vendiendo cascabeles de yak. Jess compr\u00f3 uno y el hombre se pas\u00f3 diez minutos hasta ponerlo en un sitio de la bici donde sonara bien. Mientras descend\u00edamos un sendero, son\u00f3 tan alto que los gu\u00edas locales se apartaban del camino como si pensaran que un yak iba a embestirlos. Los tuvimos que quitar despu\u00e9s de eso.<\/p>\n<p>La comida favorita de Jess era el queso de yak, que tiene un sabor similar al Parmesano. El mio era Dal Bhat, del cual siempre te sirven m\u00e1s hasta que no les ruegas que paren. Por lo que vimos, es la \u00fanica cosa que los gu\u00edas y porteadores comen. Su frase era \u201c\u00a1Fuerza de Dal Bhat, 24 horas!\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Otro momento memorable fue pasar un dia recorriendo la senda ciclista en el paso de Lubra, cerca Jomsom. Este sendero es probablemente la mejor pista ciclista de todo Nepal. Quitamos todo el equipaje de las bicis y nos pasamos el dia entero por las crestas de las monta\u00f1as sin encontrarnos a nadie.<\/p>\n<p>El pueblo favorito de los que estuvimos fue Gunsang. Debido a su proximidad al pueblo de Manang muchos excursionistas se lo saltan. Pero como hab\u00eda muchas escaleras entre ellos, nos cost\u00f3 mucho llegar a Gunsang y decidimos quedarnos ah\u00ed. Result\u00f3 ser un privilegio porque el pueblo ten\u00eda una incre\u00edble vista de las monta\u00f1as Gangapurna y Annapurna III. Las ruedas son 27.5&#8243; con cubiertas 2.8&#8243; Schwalbe G-ONE Allround. Las bolsas eran una mezcla de Porcelain Rocket, Revelate Designs, y Bags by Bird.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>Equipo fotogr\u00e1fico<\/strong><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Para mi equipo de foto uso la Fujifilm X System sin espejos. En este viaje traje un objetivo, un 24-70mm (equivalente a 35 mm) f\/2.8. Us\u00e9 una cinta Peak Design para tener la c\u00e1mara accesible en todo momento. Simplemente puse la correa lo m\u00e1s corta posible y la colgu\u00e9 alrededor de mi pecho, usando el quick-release cuando lo necesitaba.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>Recomendaciones<\/strong><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Viaja tan ligero como puedas y ten un rango de material bajo.
