Isla de Arran, Escocia"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Hace escasas semanas se celebr\u00f3 la primera edici\u00f3n de Grinduro en Europa, sin duda, uno de los eventos de referencia a nivel mundial en cuanto a <em>gravel<\/em> se refiere.<\/p>\n<p>Para su desembarco en el continente escogieron a Escocia como pa\u00eds para llevar a cabo la carrera, un terreno h\u00famedo, repleto de naturaleza y paisajes alucinantes que no dejar\u00edan a nadie descontento.<\/p>\n<p>Por nuestra parte, tuvimos la ocasi\u00f3n de contar con la asistencia de <a href=\"http:\/\/marcelbatlle.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Marcel Batlle<\/a>, dise\u00f1ador gr\u00e1fico, enfermo por las dos ruedas y colaborador de <strong>RAW Cycling Magazine<\/strong>, y nos ha contado su experiencia por este gran evento.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00bfC\u00f3mo describir\u00edas con tus palabras que es Grinduro?<\/strong><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Barro, Lluvia, Risas, Barro, m\u00e1s barro y para finalizar m\u00e1s Barro\u2026ja, ja, ja, ja\u2026 Ahora en serio, sonar\u00e1 t\u00edpico y t\u00f3pico, pero creo que para m\u00ed ha sido uno de los d\u00edas que mejor me lo he pasado compitiendo. No solo por el paisaje y los caminos (tan diferentes a lo que estoy acostumbrado) sino tambi\u00e9n porque el formato es un gran acierto. No es solo una carrera si no que es un fin de semana en el que pasan muchas cosas.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>H\u00e1blanos un poco sobre el formato de la carrera (funcionamiento, n\u00famero de participantes, etc.) \u00bfQui\u00e9n hay detr\u00e1s de Grinduro?<\/strong><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>La <a href=\"https:\/\/grinduro.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><u>Grinduro<\/u><\/a> es una carrera at\u00edpica de <em>gravel<\/em>. El formato se parece m\u00e1s a una carrera de enduro, donde hay tramos neutralizados de enlace y tramos cronometrados. En esta ocasi\u00f3n, constaba de 4 tramos cronometrados, (una crono en subida de unos 7km, un descenso muy t\u00e9cnico debido a la gran cantidad de barro y ra\u00edces, un tramo muy rodador que acaba con una subida muy suave, y para finalizar una subida corta pero muy dura). Todo esto separado entre la ma\u00f1ana y la tarde, con paradas obligatorias y donde tienes la opci\u00f3n de ponerte fino comiendo. Lo bueno de tener tramos neutralizados es que puedes ir con los amigos con los que normalmente en otra carrera no podr\u00edas porque vais a ritmos muy diferentes.<\/p>\n<p>En esta ocasi\u00f3n fui con <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/marcgasch\/?hl=es\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><u>Marc Gasch<\/u><\/a>, el fot\u00f3grafo del equipo <a href=\"https:\/\/xpdtn3.club\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><u>Xpdtn3<\/u><\/a> del cual formo parte y gracias al formato pod\u00edamos ir parando y haciendo fotos en los tramos neutralizados, sin penalizar la experiencia de la carrera.<\/p>\n<p>Detr\u00e1s de la Grinduro est\u00e1 principalmente <a href=\"http:\/\/www.giro.com\/eu_en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Giro<\/a> y luego hay sponsors secundarios como <a href=\"http:\/\/fabric.cc\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><u>Fabric<\/u><\/a> u otros. Sin duda, es la carrera de bicis donde la imagen est\u00e1 m\u00e1s cuidada (s\u00e9 que yo le doy especial importancia porque soy dise\u00f1ador, pero realmente es importante). Por primera vez me hubiera comprado todo el <em>merchandising<\/em>, desde las zapatillas Giro de color lila pasando por parches, botellines, guantes y alguna freakada m\u00e1s. Otra cosa que me encanta de la Grinduro son los premios. \u00a1Desde la primera edici\u00f3n ya me ten\u00edan el coraz\u00f3n robado! Son 3 sillines Fabric con la imagen de la Grinduro, uno bronce, otro plata y obviamente el dorado. Y tuve la \u201csuerte\u201d de clasificarme y hacerme con uno de ellos. Otra cosa que me encant\u00f3 fue ver a los jefazos de Giro currando como uno m\u00e1s, entregando dorsales, repartiendo comida o moj\u00e1ndose animando debajo de la lluvia. Este tipo de cosas son importantes y los americanos lo cuidan mucho. Lo hacen muy bien, cuidan los detalles y la organizaci\u00f3n es impecable y en ese sentido, tenemos que aprender mucho de ellos.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>El terreno y las condiciones climatol\u00f3gicas de un pa\u00eds como Escocia, entendemos que debe a\u00f1adir un punto de dureza en el terreno&#8230; \u00bfqu\u00e9 tal ha sido? \u00bfmuchos abandonos?<\/strong><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>La dureza la puso el barro. Llov\u00eda mucho, pero por suerte para nosotros no hacia demasiado frio. Adem\u00e1s, acertamos con las ruedas <a href=\"https:\/\/www.3tcycling.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><u>3T<\/u><\/a> 650 y cubiertas 2.0 tubeless de <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wtb.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><u>Wilderness<\/u><\/a> con mucho taco. Abandonos ha habido pocos ya que al haber zonas neutralizadas los tiempos de corte son m\u00e1s que asumibles para cualquier persona que haya pedaleado alguna vez en su vida, as\u00ed que los abandonos se deb\u00edan m\u00e1s a problemas mec\u00e1nicos que no f\u00edsicos. Ya sab\u00e9is que el barro hace trizas cualquier bicicleta, y aunque hab\u00eda varios puntos de reparaci\u00f3n mec\u00e1nica hay cosas que son insalvables. El <em>track<\/em> deb\u00eda ser duro a juzgar por la cara de los dem\u00e1s participantes ja, ja, ja, pero a m\u00ed me pareci\u00f3 tan bonito que no me enter\u00e9 demasiado de la dureza. Los tramos neutralizados te dan mucha vida y da tiempo de recuperarte. Al final yo estuve \u201ccompitiendo\u201d unos 30 minutos\u2026 as\u00ed que no es nada descabellado.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>Es el primer a\u00f1o que el evento apuesta por hacer una edici\u00f3n fuera de los EEUU, \u00bfqu\u00e9 tal ha sido el feedback de la gente?<\/strong><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Despu\u00e9s de 3 ediciones en California han decidido traerla a Europa y la gente est\u00e1 m\u00e1s que encantada. La localizaci\u00f3n tampoco era f\u00e1cil, aunque era parte de la gracia. Arriesgaron con eso, se celebr\u00f3 en la isla de Arr\u00e1n, en Escocia donde solo se puede acceder con ferry pocas veces al d\u00eda. Una isla incre\u00edblemente verde y con unos paisajes brutales que solo pudimos ver el d\u00eda antes y el d\u00eda despu\u00e9s de la carrera ya que el d\u00eda D \u00a1parec\u00eda el fin del mundo! Ja, ja, ja, ja.<\/p>\n<p>La organizaci\u00f3n supongo que esperaba un poco m\u00e1s de asistencia, ya que en Estados Unidos acuden unas 800 personas y aqu\u00ed no llegaron a las 250. De todas formas, el <em>feedback<\/em> de la gente ha sido muy positivo.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>Cuando hablan de Grinduro tambi\u00e9n hablan sobre una fiesta de ciclismo, buena comida y arte con exposiciones de <em>frame-builders<\/em>, etc. \u00bfQu\u00e9 te ha parecido en conjunto?<\/strong><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>A m\u00ed me ha encantado y no me canso de repetir que el formato que proponen durante todo el fin de semana es genial. La gente dice que est\u00e1 lejos de lo que montan en California, pero yo quede m\u00e1s que satisfecho con lo que montaron en Escocia. En el concurso de <em>framebuilders<\/em> Donhou, Feather\u2026 la gente tambi\u00e9n participa en la votaci\u00f3n y al ganador lo invitan a la Grinduro California.<\/p>\n<p>La comida muy buena, variada y con opciones veganas y sin gluten. Tambi\u00e9n hab\u00eda exposiciones de algunas marcas, talleres para aprender a soldar por parte de \u201cThe bicycle academy\u201d (te soldabas tu propio llavero con el logo de la Grinduro) y la traca final fue el concierto que montan despu\u00e9s de la entrega de premios. Todo esto rodeado de aut\u00e9nticos freaks de las bicis, y del acero. Una gran parte de ellos nos miraban de reojo cuando aparecimos con nuestras bicis de carbono.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>\u00bfQu\u00e9 opinas de que hayan considerado Grinduro como mejor evento ciclista del a\u00f1o? \u00bfCu\u00e1l ser\u00eda tu valoraci\u00f3n?<\/strong><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>No sab\u00eda este dato, pero para m\u00ed podr\u00eda serlo. Aunque probablemente se refieren a la de California. Lo que est\u00e1 claro es que se ha convertido en LA CARRERA en el mundo del gravel. Igual que los carreteros han de hacer la Marmotte alguna vez en su vida y los Mountain bikers han de hacer la Cape Epic, la meca del gravel sin duda es la Grinduro. No me extra\u00f1ar\u00eda nada que empezaran a montar varias Grinduros en lugares donde el gravel es una gran opci\u00f3n. De todas formas, me he quedado con ganas de ir a la de California.
