Las RHC Series siguen creciendo"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>El pasado 30 de abril se daba el pistoletazo de salida de las <a href=\"http:\/\/redhookcrit.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Red Hook Crit Series 2016<\/a>, como siempre, empezando con la primera prueba en Brooklyn.<\/p>\n<p>Cada a\u00f1o se oye decir que la <em>fixed fever<\/em> se est\u00e1 estancando y que cada vez hay menos gente pero, sin embargo, la novena edici\u00f3n de la carrera de pi\u00f1\u00f3n fijo neoyorkina, dice todo lo contrario.<\/p>\n<p>Llegaba cargada de novedades y cifras de r\u00e9cord. Una prueba que a\u00f1o tras a\u00f1o sigue creciendo sin parar y no solo a nivel asistencia de corredores, sino tambi\u00e9n a nivel organizativo, log\u00edstico, difusi\u00f3n, etc.<\/p>\n<p>Un nuevo trazado se dibujaba en los planos del embarcadero del distrito de Red Hook. Un circuito con una nueva zona de curvas donde la t\u00e9cnica se convert\u00eda en punto clave para ser r\u00e1pido, pero sin perder ese car\u00e1cter de carrera en la que se alcanzan altas velocidades y \u00a0el nivel de exigencia es m\u00e1ximo.<\/p>\n<p>R\u00e9cord de inscripciones femeninas con m\u00e1s de 90 chicas en la parrilla clasificatoria dividas en dos grupos en los que se encontraban, entre ellas,\u00a0 grandes protagonistas como <a href=\"http:\/\/rawcyclingmag.com\/rookies-del-ano-ainara-elbusto\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Ainara Elbusto<\/a><strong>, <\/strong><a href=\"http:\/\/rawcyclingmag.com\/rookies-del-ano-fleure-faure\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Fleur Faure<\/a><strong>, <\/strong><a href=\"http:\/\/rawcyclingmag.com\/jo-celso-ganadora-del-rhc-brooklyn-no-7\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Jo Celso<\/a><strong>, <\/strong>Ash Duban, y muchas otras\u2026<\/p>\n<p>En cuanto a la categor\u00eda masculina y, pese al notable incremento de precio respecto al a\u00f1o anterior, siguen agot\u00e1ndose en cuesti\u00f3n de minutos. Gente de todo el mundo no quiere perderse el mayor espect\u00e1culo de pi\u00f1\u00f3n fijo que se ha visto nunca.<\/p>\n<h5><strong>QUALIFY SESSIONS<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>Otra de las grandes novedades de este a\u00f1o, era la nueva distribuci\u00f3n de los grupos de clasificaci\u00f3n. En esta ocasi\u00f3n y, por primera vez en la historia del RHC, solo pod\u00edan haber dos corredores del mismo equipo en cada grupo, de esta forma se intentaba dar m\u00e1s posibilidades a aquellos corredores que se presentan en solitario y, por qu\u00e9 no, dar m\u00e1s emoci\u00f3n a estas rondas clasificatorias.<\/p>\n<h5><strong>LAST CHANCE RACE<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>Posiblemente una de las carreras Last Chance m\u00e1s r\u00e1pidas hasta el momento. Desde el inicio se impuso un ritmo alto y en todo momento se mantuvo un gran pelot\u00f3n de cabeza en el que se disputaba una lucha por entrar en el TOP 10 y pasar a la final.<\/p>\n<p>Destacar la presencia de corredores como <strong>Chas Christiansen<\/strong> (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.mashsf.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">MASH SF<\/a>), <strong>Jeremy Santucci<\/strong> (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.chariandconyc.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Chari&amp;Co.<\/a>) que tuvo una aparatosa ca\u00edda durante la carrera, \u00a0o <strong>William Lewis<\/strong> (<a href=\"https:\/\/shop.dosnoventabikes.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Dosnoventa<\/a>) que hizo una grand\u00edsima carrera y finalmente entr\u00f3 en 4\u00ba posici\u00f3n, obteniendo as\u00ed una segunda oportunidad en la final masculina.<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<h5><strong>WOMEN\u2019s FINAL<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>No nos cansamos de decir que el nivel de las chicas no para de crecer y que ya no son las \u201cteloneras\u201d de la final de chicos, si no que ahora, hay dos grandes carreras que ver.<\/p>\n<p>Cada vez hay m\u00e1s nombres que cogen peso en la parrilla de salida de las f\u00e9minas. Nombres como <strong>Ainara Elbusto, Ash Duban, Fleur Faure, Sammy Runnels, Francisca Campos, Vitoria Reatti<\/strong>\u2026 se ven acompa\u00f1ados por otros muchos que los grandes equipos apuestan por ellos.<\/p>\n<p>Desde el inicio de carrera las chicas marcaron un gran ritmo encabezado por las preferidas. Las chicas del reci\u00e9n estrenado equipo LaClassica Racing Team (Vittoria y Fleur) dieron mucha guerra, y el Whybenormal? Tampoco se cortaron. Los intentos de ataque se suced\u00edan pero Ainara no dejaba escapar una y control\u00f3 la carrera durante todo momento.<\/p>\n<p>Finalmente, el p\u00f3dium fue para la imparable <strong>Ainara<\/strong>, seguida de <strong>Ash<\/strong> y <strong>Vittoria<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Resaltar la actuaci\u00f3n de las reci\u00e9n llegadas al campeonato, las hermanas Usabiaga del equipo Polo&amp;Bike, Virginia Cancellieri del IRD Carrera Squadra Corse y, como no, Francisca Campo del RAW Santafixie Team que consigui\u00f3 un fant\u00e1stico 11\u00ba puesto.<\/p>\n<h5><strong>MEN\u2019s FINAL<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>Tratar de transmitir con palabras todo lo que se vive en una final del RHC siempre es una tarea complicada pero, la de esta edici\u00f3n n\u00famero 9 en Brooklyn, es especialmente dif\u00edcil de describir.<\/p>\n<p>Empezando por destacar la gran clasificaci\u00f3n que logr\u00f3 <strong>Addison Zawada<\/strong> del equipo <a href=\"http:\/\/www.statebicycle.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">State Bicycle Co.<\/a> con un tiempo de 01:25:74 y m\u00e1s de un segundo de diferencia con el segundo clasificado, el espa\u00f1ol <strong>Lu\u00eds Junquera<\/strong> de <a href=\"http:\/\/rawcyclingmag.com\/poloandbike-luchando-por-un-sueno\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Polo&amp;Bike<\/a>. Addison est\u00e1 haciendo una temporada impecable.<\/p>\n<p>Llega la hora del momento m\u00e1s esperado del d\u00eda, la carrera est\u00e1 a punto de dar comienzo, los corredores est\u00e1n en sus posiciones, se hace el silencio y David comienza la cuenta atr\u00e1s.<\/p>\n<p>Todo apuntaba a que iba a ser una carrera de infarto, pero lo que nadie se esperaba era lo que iba a ocurrir tan solo unos segundos despu\u00e9s de dar la salida.<\/p>\n<p>Por un error humano, una de las motos que va por delante del pelot\u00f3n, qued\u00f3 detenida en medio de la pista. Los primeros corredores estuvieron a tiempo de esquivar el terrible obst\u00e1culo pero en el momento que hubo la primera colisi\u00f3n, la tragedia era insalvable. Una montonera de corredores superaba las barrera\u00a0 que delimitan el circuito, bicis y personas se amontonaban unos encima de otros, ruedas volando, gritos de dolor\u2026en fin, un escenario en el que nadie le gustar\u00eda encontrarse.<\/p>\n<p>La organizaci\u00f3n trat\u00f3 de reaccionar ante tal incidente pero era casi imposible estar preparado para algo como esto.<\/p>\n<p>Tras un largo par\u00f3n, los equipos sal\u00edan una vez m\u00e1s a la pista, con una sensaci\u00f3n algo extra\u00f1a por todo lo ocurrido. 3, 2, 1\u2026arrancaba nuevamente la final y los corredores arrancaban como cohetes para conseguir el <em>Prime<\/em> de la primera vuelta pero, nuevamente, una ca\u00edda (esta vez por el toque entre varios corredores) obliga a la organizaci\u00f3n a detener la carrera por seguridad.<\/p>\n<p>Dicen que a la tercera va la vencida, y as\u00ed fue. Una vez m\u00e1s los corredores se colocaron en la parrilla de salida y David Trimble dio la cuenta atr\u00e1s. En esta ocasi\u00f3n se pudo completar la primera vuelta con \u00e9xito y la carrera ya no se detendr\u00eda.<\/p>\n<p>A pesar de que muchos corredores se vieron perjudicados por los parones, el fr\u00edo y la tensi\u00f3n de la noche, <strong>Colin Strickland<\/strong> (Allez Allez &#8211; Specialized) dio un recital repitiendo la actuaci\u00f3n que hizo en Mil\u00e1n el a\u00f1o pasado. Cuando a\u00fan quedaban m\u00e1s de 10 vueltas para el final, decide lanzar un ataque que le permiti\u00f3 abrir una brecha con el pelot\u00f3n de cabeza y conseguir escaparse. Vuelta a vuelta le ganaba tiempo al resto de corredores, llegando a tener unos holgados 30 segundos de diferencia\u2026 \u00a1sin palabras!<\/p>\n<p>Las \u00faltimas vueltas hubo una gran lucha por conseguir entrar en posici\u00f3n de p\u00f3dium que, al final, se llev\u00f3 el italiano <strong>Ivan Ravaioli<\/strong> del <strong>Team Cinelli Chrome<\/strong> y <strong>Aldo Ino Ilesic<\/strong> tambi\u00e9n del <strong>Allez Allez \u2013 Specialized<\/strong>.
